Qualifications:
First Christian Church in Middletown, Ohio is seeking a skilled accompanist to play for our Sunday morning worship service. This is a part-time position (approximately 4-5 hours per week, plus preparation time). Our church is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Worship services include both traditional and contemporary music. The Worship Accompanist will provide accompaniment for weekly worship and holiday services, rehearse with and accompany adult and youth choirs, and rehearse with and accompany music leaders and guest musicians. The Worship Accompanist is responsible to and supervised by the Music Director. Requirements:§ Excellent piano skills§ Experience as an accompanist, preferably in a church setting§ Equivalent of high-school level music education and training§ Adequate sight-reading ability§ Ability to play from lead sheets Organ skills are desirable, but not required.
